Low Cost Spaying/Neutering...

Three decades ago, the Lehigh County Humane Society became a forerunner in facilitating a low-cost Spay/Neuter Certificate Program available to the entire community. The benefits of spaying and neutering pets are taught in our extensive Humane Education Program.

It has been widely accepted with high customer satisfaction that is evident in the fact that 1053 animals were spayed or neutered in 2007 as a result of this program.

The Way it Works

Low-Cost certificate is purchased from Lehigh County Humane Society, in person or by telephone~

Customer contacts the Veterinary hospital to arrange appointment for surgery.

Surgical procedure includes: Spay or Neuter surgery, post-operative over night stay, Vet check the following day, care instructions, and medication when the animal is released.

Cost of Spay/Neuter Certificate
Canine Spay $83.00 Feline Spay $66.00
Canine Neuter $76.00 Feline Neuter $61.00

Questions involving possible additional fee for special conditions, e.g. pregnancy, unusual size or aggressive temperament of animal may be discussed with Veterinary hospital prior to certificate purchase.

Neither the Lehigh County Humane Society nor the Veterinary hospital receives any significant monetary benefit from the Low-Cost S/N Program. The Certificate payment collected by the Lehigh County Humane Society is accepted by the Veterinary hospital as payment-in-full for the spay/neuter surgery performed.

This program is available to the public to help stop pet overpopulation, a main reason for the abandonment of millions of unwanted pets annually. Pets that are surgically sterilized are less apt to roam and to develop certain types of serious diseases.

The Lehigh County Humane Society invites all area Veterinary hospitals that are interested in becoming part of the Low-Cost Spay/Neuter program to contact the Executive Director for additional information.
